Laundry Hacks 101
Hey, ya'll! This week on Survival Guide, I'm going to reveal to you a few laundry hacks that will definitely change your life. Personally, laundry is one of the top two things I hate doing (the second is dishes), so this research helped me too.
After being used to 18 years of mom doing my laundry, taking it upon myself once I came to college was tough, and even after 2+ years, it's still tough.
Here are some hacks for Stain Removal (you'll find that most of these products can be found at home):
1. Sun on tomato based stains
2. White bread blots out lipstick stains
3. Hairspray and hand sanitizer beat the worst ink stains
4. Cold water + hand wash for blood stains
5. Hydrogen peroxide for grass stained butt
6. Chalk or baby powder for grease stains
7. Yellow sweat stains 9 D-I-Y Solutions: - Lemon juice - Table salt - Ammonia
- Liquid laundry detergent + sunshine - Hydrogen peroxide - Aspirin
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Meat tenderizer
8. Club soda + salt + milk+ kitty litter for freshly spilled red wine
9. Rubbing alcohol for acrylic paint stains
Hacks for Getting Rid of Wrinkles
1. Toss in a dry towel along with your clothes in the dryer for 15-20 minutes
2. Toss wrinkled clothes in the dryer with a dryer sheet and an ice cube for 10 minutes
3. If you don't have dryer sheets but want fluffy, absorbent towels, toss in a balled-up aluminum foil (added bonus is that it will reduce static electricity and it can be re-used for a month)
4 Ways to Speed Up Laundry Days
If you're anything like me, you'll have 3 weeks' worth of laundry piled up in the basket (if you're smh-ing at me, don't judge plz).
1. Presorted bins-- lights, colors, denim, towels
2. Quick wash setting (if you live in Harbor Point like I do, you don't really have the privilege of selecting "quick wash", sorry)
3. Dryer = ironing
4. Entertainment while doing laundry (like how people watch Netflix while squeezing in a quick run on the treadmill)
